Together, we can bring support families who feel alone and isolated!

We ALL have mental health, just like physical health!

Sadly, 1 in 5 children (almost 18 million) in every community struggles with a diagnosable mental health disorder, and yet only 20% of those youth receive the treatment they need. It's not a surprise, given that families feel isolated and alone when it comes to caring for their children's mental health and don't know where to turn for resources.

PROVIDING PEER TO PEER SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES:

The Youth Mental Health Project believes that providing parents concerned about their children's mental health with a dependable and caring network, valuable peer support, and education in their local communities is absolutely vital to improving outcomes when it comes to our children's mental health. Ultimately, supporting our youth means supporting their parents and caregivers.

The Parent Support Network is a revolutionary and replicable program we have developed to enable communities to provide parents who are concerned about their child's mental health and well-being with the opportunity to give and receive valuable peer connection and knowledge through facilitated and transformative dialogues. By providing knowledge, skills, and support directly to parents, we can help to increase early intervention to reduce the incidence and severity of youth mental health disorders.

During the last three months of 2018 alone, The Parent Support Network has launched 5 pilot affiliates in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, held 13 in-person parent support meetings for 141 parents. And we have only just begun. We are planning to launch 2 additional affiliates in the first quarter of 2019! Our vision is for every community in the nation to have access to The Parent Support Network program, but we can not do it alone!

Your donation will help us bring much needed support to parents, empowering them to understand their children's mental health needs and take action!
