PLEASE -- Help me save lives like mine by donating to The Youth Mental Health Project NOW!

In 2015, I thought I had no future and suicide was my only choice. Hiking found me just in time. Instead of taking my life, I took a 2,200-mile walk on the Appalachian Trail. Hike the Good Hike was born, and I became a mental health advocate.

Starting July 1st, I will be hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and partnering with The Youth Mental Health Project™ to bring attention and funding to children’s mental health.

I need your help!

Too often, children's mental health care is an afterthought. Most parents know they should start regular pediatrician visits with their children at birth to keep them physically well, but very few realize they need to care for their children’s mental health just as intentionally, from just as young an age.

A staggering ONE IN FIVE children in the U.S. has a diagnosable mental health condition but, because of misunderstanding, stereotypes, silence, and shame, LESS THAN 20% OF THOSE kids receive the treatment they need. We need to change this! The consequences are literally deadly.

The Youth Mental Health Project educates, empowers, and supports families and communities to better understand and care for the mental health of youth. Like me, they believe that mental health and physical health need to be equally prioritized and nurtured. They lead open conversations about mental health in communities all over the country to help educate people, and they run AMAZING SUPPORT GROUPS to help families who are struggling.

Donate to The Youth Mental Health Project Today and Spread the Word!

The YMHP is hoping to expand their Parent Support Network from 13 groups to 20, including 3 in disadvantaged urban communities and 3 in underserved rural communities, but they can't do it with our support! Please -- give generously! So many families need our help to help their kids! Let's not let them down.
